The son of a family friend is heading back to Aussie in 5wks for work, so took him and my son out today and double the purpose by breaking in my "new" 243. We went to a farm I have permission to "thin" out the goats, they are wild but the cocky likes them to keep the broom down but he doesn't want too many knocked over - just keep the numbers down.
A quick chat to the cocky's missus let us know their rough location and I dropped off some beers. As it was a NW we needed to approach the valley they live in with the wind in our faces but this meant a good climb and some sneaking into close the range. We managed to get within 200m before we were exposed and they started shuffling off into the thick stuff. A late nanny and a year old kid turned up and the 80gr HP's did the business at 170m.
They'll be on the curry list in the next few weeks.
