Pea sized blobs of peanut butter mixed with plaster of Paris will do the trick

Update on the rats, seems things have gone all quiet since poison was laid. Rats were happy to feed off the poison wherever it was placed but wouldn't touch the stuff which was placed on the traps. Massive thanks to @Kiwi-Hunter for sending that up for me. Just waiting on the smell now to find where they are rotting.

For rats into the chook and calf feed we would mix some fine stuff up with plaster of Paris, about 2:1 ratio I think, the 1 being the plaster. Takes a hard cast of their lower intestine.

Sounds interesting - but i found it hard to follow your explanation.

    Any chance of a photo?

That was the method my Grandmother used - she grew up in the depression and didn't mess around with rodents
If my work annoys me, I cull them
