Good photo there EeeBees. I delivered about six of them from a hare I shot many years ago, one survived for a few weeks before it was crushed in the HWC door!

I did not know the female had such a litter... I was told they have only up to three...perhaps the person telling me that had only ever found that many...she must have a busy time, feeding her young planted in different spots!! I think leverets are the most gorgeous little things...then as they grow they become delicious...

I shot a Hare one day and as I went to pick up the dead body saw the tiniest of leverets. Made me feel bad for shooting it's mother.

I think this one was looking for a place to give birth right at the time she ran into the 12 gauge, they were fully formed and ready to go, you don't see them very often

Neat wee things, I pick them up from in front of the vineyard mower when I see them, they are happy to spend most of the day in my jersey. Once the mowings all done I put them back out in the vineyard.

    Hey Penguy,
We use the word leverette in French quite often: it is the literal translation of doggy style ... :-)

Often encounter them in the vineyard I work on too...the camera on my new phone even has zoom...! Should have used it!! Hares seem to like vineyards...perhaps it is because most of them are left to their own devices...
