Looking for a new air rifle.

I was looking to buy a new air rifle for small game hunting and backyard target shooting. I've only ever used quite cheap ones, and since I'm not very educated on them, I was wondering if anyone had any advice? My budget is about 400-600 bucks without a scope, I preferably want one in .22 with enough speed and power to kill bunny's, turkeys etc.

If anyone knows a model that would suit my needs, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Try Youngs Air Guns in Auckland they may have a decent second had one - Diana are good - Weirauch are really good but may be out of your budget but second hand maybe- the german made air rifles are the way to go

Are there any shops you can buy from online? I live in wellington, but I could check it out next time I'm up there.

I have a used .22 Cometa Fusion here, in very good condition and shooting well. I have personally used a different Fusion to kill over 1000 rabbits and many possums and turkeys too. Based in Hawkes Bay $400

".......want one in .22 with enough speed and power to kill bunny's, turkeys etc."

    Don't forget accuracy!
And as with any break barrel spring air rifle, old and new, check the stock screws for tightness, clean the barrel, check the barrel pivot bolt for snugness (not too loose, not too tight), adjust the trigger so that it is light and safe with minimal creep, mount a springer rated scope, practice the artillery hold, shoot medium weight JSB, AirArms or H&N pellets,....
Know your hold-overs and practice on paper before targeting anything living.
