Yeah it's a freaking fun little cartridge eh.

You mainly referring to projectiles? I had been waiting for some 20gr Vmaxs to come into stock for a fair while, managed to pickup 300x from GunWorks a couple of months back which I'll be starting into shortly. 1 bottle of powder seems to last forever at just 12.6gr per round

Ahhhh it was you who snapped them up! I saw some there and then I went back to purchase a couple of days later and they were sold out! Agree on the powder, still got plenty myself and I see it around on the shelves still. Brass isn't easy to come across though, haven't seen any for 12 months at least

Cool shooting , sudden death for those rabbits that sit to long. Great little caliber alright, ideal for those situations.

Love those small caliber, ultra accurate rifles. Surgical precision. Nice.

Thanks guys, the 17 Hornet is epic fun to use alright. Super flat and fast, accurate as, zero recoil so you get to see all the destruction in the scope.

There's not many 17 Hornets around so if you see one grab it, it may be a while before another one comes up.

The most impressive thing about your reloading set up is the vacuum cleaner.

Very true, the fancy vacume is the wife's, I like simple.

You can make great accurate ammo with simple but decent gear.

The only reloading 'machine' I have is the Gen 6 powder dispenser, everything else I do in the reloading process is completely manual. Don't even own a tumbler.

I had a strange pang of vacuum envy when I saw it standing there, looking like something out of Star Wars. I’m using a $70 Warehouse special!

I’d draw the line at no tumbler - I love my tumbler. I got new media for it recently, wow what a difference. I put a batch of old ADI range brass through it the other day, that brass was collected in WA about 10 years ago and has been in a plastic bag ever since. Looked really shit! But after 8 hours in the tumbler it came out mint, looks brand new.

Funny how we all approach reloading differently. I’ll never buy an auto power dispenser. I’ll be weighing it out on my balance beam until I’m so old my hands shake too much. I find that part very therapeutic.

Was thinking about your .17 the other day when I was being frustrated by bunnies just out of range of my .22LR. Would be interesting to see how it goes shooting at steepish angles with wind a around ~200-240m.

You know a guy who can make it happen

I really like the look of the 20 Vartarg, and for a while was really keen to build one, but they supposedly don't mag feed well, brass is hard to get etc

I came to the conclusion that a 20 Practical makes much more sense. A simple neck down of 223 to 20 cal

Lots of quality 223 brass around, easy mag feeding and slightly better performance than the 20VT without having too much case capacity.

And dies are easier too. Just use an S type 223 FL bushing die with a 20 cal bush in it

Ooooo stop it with that kind of talk. I've got about 500 .223 cases here that I'll probably never use....
