When my 204 MKII burns out, I'd consider one.
is that the same as the 17 rem they use in ozzy
don't know , assume its a necked down hornet
Its a 17 hornady hornet. Based on 22 hornet case. 17 Rem is based on a 223 case

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more
Depending on how expensive it is to feed it may not be worth it.
Being a new round it'll probably be cheaper to both buy ammo and reload for 223 or 204 Ruger.
I guess if you wanted something with almost no chance of ricochets, and no recoil it'd be ok.
Was looking at one last week.
Be cheap to reload.

308Win One chambering to rule them all.
How much cheaper than 223 or 204 Ruger to reload?
What guns does it come chambered in? Anything nice and small and light weight? Or more like full size rifles (223 and the like)?
Was a savage I looked at.
Dunno but 17 cal bullets can't cost much and there is Bugger all room for powder so that shouldnt cost much either.

Bout 8-10gr powder, so a pound goes a long way... 20gr zmax projectiles purchased in 500 packs are pretty cheap.
Savage, Ruger & CZ chamber the 17 Hornet, not sure who else does, if any?

Not sure on case life, but brass factory made by Hornady. Some on trade me a few weeks back for $55/50. Zmax 500 packs are $130, so if you get 5 firings per case then you are looking at about 62 cents per round, so a bit more than hmr but from what I have witnessed about twice the effectiveness. CZ527 in 17HH will be the same price as other 527's which means a chunk more than a 452...
45SOUTH has one on a ruger action and also knows of a few others so will have a much better idea of what to expect with cases etc

Just talking to a guy with 1. Has more than 10 firings on cases, so based on his costings the per round cost is about 49 cents. 39 cents for components & 10 cents for brass. He said the cases are much better than the old 22 hornet brass...

I have got one, its a fantastic little round, and fun to shoot, hardly use the .17hmr now,
I had a bit of diffuclty crushing case necks to start out with, and its fiddly to load for, wish the v-max were not flat base as have had the odd one catch seating. Think I am going to get a RCBS seater die that you can seat threw the side of the die.
Mines a savage and it shoots well, but its gone as soon as the .17 hornet in CZ turns up,
