Bout 8-10gr powder, so a pound goes a long way... 20gr zmax projectiles purchased in 500 packs are pretty cheap.

Savage, Ruger & CZ chamber the 17 Hornet, not sure who else does, if any?

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

What about cases though? Wasn't 22hornet known for terrible case life, is this much better?
And how much is it to buy cases?

If one of the CZs was not much more than my 452, and you could reload for cheaper than 223 and what 17hmr ammo costs. It'd be pretty sweeeeeet.

Not sure on case life, but brass factory made by Hornady. Some on trade me a few weeks back for $55/50. Zmax 500 packs are $130, so if you get 5 firings per case then you are looking at about 62 cents per round, so a bit more than hmr but from what I have witnessed about twice the effectiveness. CZ527 in 17HH will be the same price as other 527's which means a chunk more than a 452...

45SOUTH has one on a ruger action and also knows of a few others so will have a much better idea of what to expect with cases etc
