    New Farm

Well, it started with a phone call a couple of weeks ago that the manager of one farm we have been shooting for a few years was talking to another farmer, as they do, and low and behold we have another farm to shoot. Word was there are lots of hares, a few rabbits and the odd pig and goat that we are more than welcome to knock over. So today it was pencilled in for a bit of a chat and a looksie, ... so we didn't need to pack any rifles. 12:30 this arvo we were off with a couple of 22's, a 223 and 308, as I said, no need to bring any rifles.

Arriving at about 2:30 we had a chat and went over maps before setting off to do some exploring in the old truck, not mine this time as they decided they didn't want it to turn into an Easter bunny hunt. The place has only been shot once in the last year or two so they were sitting pretty quietly, there weren't that many hares about, but the main reason for the trip was a chat and reccie, but at least all that was seen was nailed. I must say that I was again very impressed with my wee Zastava 223; I only fired 5 shots but accounted for 4 hares and 1 rabbit. The most spectacular shot would have to be the hare at 250m with the 308 that resulted in the remains of its heart hanging out its side, followed closely by the mastalid at point blank with #10 shot. You can see the #10 running shoe in the photo bellow.

Bought a couple of hares home for the pot, so TimeRider is happy. Now I have to wait another couple of weeks for the next trip.
