    Possum lure spray

Been using flour based lures for a long time. Thought I would oil based spray. any1 have a recipe for I.e aniseed or cinnamon oil mixed with water/oil in a spray bottle then spray onto tree. Yes there is no visual lure but just trying different things out.

I tried all sorts of oils - bakers mixed spice etc plus curry aniseed etc etc. None were as good as just an apple rubbed on the tree with iceing sugar / flour mix dusted over. Depending on the country ie all bush, some Eucalypts are very attractive to possums and they will come a long way to get to them and that might be worth exploring.
nothing beats pre feeding with sugar / flour mix

At this time of year collecting feijoas, mashing through a blender and then freezing in 1 litre milk bottles...the smell works well when fruit is out of season.

Cooking oil as a pre feed is good, make #8 wire supports to hold milk bottle caps high enough so rats don't feed on it, use pieces of hair ribbon to mark feeders as they are easy to miss when looking for them.
