Query re using a Suppressor on .22LR

Gidday. A mate has just obtained a JW15 with a basic suppressor. He was given a selection of ammo including some HV and stingers. I have advised against using the HV or Stingers through the suppressor. My understanding is they will likely bugger it in time. Is this correct? Cheers.

That's not an issue with a half decent suppressor.

Most suppressors will not even notice the faster stuff. Itwill still be quieter than without the suppressor, but it wont be subsonic quiet. We used to run it lots with no problems. We used subs with rabbits but if we saw a Cat / hare or possum we used a supersonic round (usually power point or similar) as these animals were more resistant to the subs...

If it’s the style of suppressor that’s built with a spring and washer stack internally, I believe they are intended for subs only, but any solid-internal can should handle the bigger bang just fine.

If it came with that ammo, it’s probably had plenty through it already?

What he said, any baffle suppressor will run supers ,not the spring and washer ones though..I know from experience, they won’t..I use velocitor thru my dpt no worries..still a decent crack to them but quieter than bare rifle..subs hardly any sound at all.

He might be like me - I use subs under 100m, but then will load HV super (1400= fps) for 100-120m shot - don't want to be mucking around taking off suppressor in that instance.

OK. I've had a look. Internally it has 2 chambers. A washer in the middle with a removable alloy inner tube either end. No springs. No markings at all.
