All of the above is good advice. Sometimes you may get a no but if you leave a good impression it's a good parting shot to stay polite, say something along the lines of "thanks for your time, here's my number, if you hear of a neighbor that may need some pests dealing to could you pass on my number, I would really appreciate that"
You may just get a call from that farmer one day once hes had some time to dwell on it.
