Shelves seemed loaded when I bought some from h&f last week... Even CCI.

That article is about the USA, and too a lesser extent Canada, there was sum shortage from time to time, when I was in Canada, but the states have had, several years of ammo shortages, Lots of storys of not been able to buy any rimfire ammo, of any type at all. and .223, 308 esp for centerfire.
A lot of new Zealand rimfire ammo, is sourced from Australia, and non USA sources, and the hording and panic buying has not happened here.

I heard that CCI was just starting to become little hard to get again.......maybe put a couple of spare boxes away... ? You cant have too much .22 ammo

It's also about balance. US folks on forums have talked about buying 2 or 3 cases at a time to keep, just in case/zombie BS/prepping to overthrow the government. They're mostly the author of their own misfortune. From one RFC thread
