We had an 8Kg cat, an absolute monster who hunted rabbits in the local reserve. He liked to leave them in on the back door step as a love offering. He loved it when i "pretended" to go hunting with him in the back yard. Cats tend to reflect how you treat them just like dogs reflect how you train them.

For a number of years I had a male Main Coon. At 5 yrs old he tipped the scales at 9.5kg. When he landed on your balls at 3am doing his "kneading the pillow" trick it was rather a quick awakening. In the end he was a real pain in tge backside as he literally owned the place. He didn't hunt or fight much that I saw but the neighbors cats gave him a wide berth. He had a couple of notches out of his ears - I always suspect he ate his opponents as he did not seem to eat all that much at home.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Always keen to join a Cat thread. This Was Adee in her prime about 10 years ago, a cat with some personality problems and a tendency to alternate between great affection and biting, probably thanks to previous young party-orientated owners not being the best. But when she came out on the farm she was in her element. Up to 3 mice a day in autumn, brought in to play with under the kitchen table. Also delivered indoors, depending on the season we had numerous rabbits dismembered in the hallway. The occasional live rat to contend with, but mostly dead ones (she didnt eat the rats), a half grown duck and even 2 weasels got dragged inside. She was only a lightweight wee thing but every stray cat was taken on and we didnt see many possums either for a long time. Thankfully she didnt go for the birds much, so on the balance i think she was beneficial to the local native wildlife.
