    Duralum is Aluminium, its an old trade name for something in the 2000 series, none of which are not good for corrosion resistance. For this something like this I would have gone 6000 series. There is also the possibility that the flutes were cut too deep and the hoop stress (due to internal pressure) was too high causing the cracking
