That's a nice looking pig trap Sheaer. Was the door spring loaded on some sort of trip wire?

Door is hinged at the top and on an angle so gravity closes it when triggered. It closes into the frame so can't be pried open from the inside. A string runs along the top of the trap and then down to a "trigger" stick which has bait around it. Pig knocks stick when eating bait - door swings shut.
As you can see. Very inportant to have a roof.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
That has inspired me, I haven't tried trapping pigs before but might look at doing something similar in the very near future. 3 questions;
1 What is the spec of the vertical netting that you have around the waratahs.
2 Is this method good for multiple captures in the same area, or do the pigs learn from observation of capture events
3 Does it take much time for a pig to decide to go into the trap, do you get many photos of pigs inspecting before entering?, or do they generally enter on first encounter.
