Welcome stagslaya,trapping possums is not too difficult but the best way to learn is to go out with a trapper in your local area,even just walking a few traplines. If ya don`t know anyone,try asking the nearest DOC office;they issue free permits to professional trappers and might suggest a friendly guy who could take you out. Or give the Forum an idea of where you are in N.Z. and one of us could get you started!

You can trap all year round for control purposes but if you`re after fur/skins then best from about May-November,depending on location.
