    UK vermin hunter saying hi!

    Hello everyone!

I’m Paul, though most folks call me Paul Be Careful—a nickname from childhood, thanks to my mum. Despite this constant warning to avoid calamity, I’ve grown into an adventurous and curious type, with a love for airgun hunting, classic air rifles, and precision shooting here in Somerset, UK. I spend my time tackling small vermin with classic airguns, the occasional PCP, and rimfire, as well as writing about my hunting escapades in my shooting diary. If you fancy a peek, the link is in my signature below.

This seems like an awesome forum. Looking forward to learn and connect with you all here!

    Cheers,
Paul

    Hi Paul be C, welcome.

Many of us hunt vermin here too, assuming you count deer as vermin (I do!).

In my neck of the woods, we don’t call deer vermin—far too posh for that! But what do we know, eh? Probably just uncultured country bumpkins with a soft spot for Bambi. Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome, I rather enjoy the "rattting" video that come out of the UK from exponents of the art of airgunning. Not to mention rock pigeons, bloody things.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Cheers, Pengy! I couldn’t agree more—Somerset’s a brilliant place to live. I’ve got an amazing permission around Ilminster, some top-notch shooting land.

Thanks, John! Yep, rats, grey squirrels, corvids, feral and wood pigeons, and the odd rabbit are the usual suspects. And every now and then, I might take a fox or a jay for good measure.
