I've done a bit of si wallbying and that's way worse. Mind you the bennets wallaby down south are 25 plus kg, those little damas are a bit larger than possums at least in my limited experience of them around rotorua wakatane
That’s more like south island rabbits than roos, in terms of density.
Because our roos are much bigger, they seem to behave differently. I’ve often seen up to a dozen or so in a cluster, but rarely more than that. Next gully over might be similar though, etc.
Of course, don’t think I’ve spent much time chasing them on flat land like that..
Just my experience, others will have different perspectives.
In the Haka today in the main hot mating month of May.You might find a dozen or so in a group,or even in a big paddock of feed,10-15 but nothing like in that photo of a hundy +.The 223 barrels would melt shooting those numbers.
When I look close at that picture there seems to be 4 ish poses repeated as if its been made up. The 4 biggest all facing the same way same pose. Its a conspiracy
and not one tail shows up in thermal????
75/15/10 black powder matters
Same photo on the rural section of Herald. Looks like a real problem
Every roo i see thru thermal the tail sure shows, not one tail in that crown.Interesting photo.
The tails could be hidden by long grass but with that number it wouldn't be long for long.
Id put money on there being more Rabbits in that pic than Wallaby.
That looks like my idea of a fun night out!
I'm skeptical because of the spacing.
