Webley & Scott Xocet 22lr carbon. Thoughts??

Looking at a cheapish 22lr for my boy (9yo) and I to knock over some bunnies/possums, and this caught my eye. Interested to hear people's thoughts experiences with rifle in question.

They are a heap, just get a 10/22. What you will save in $ you will gain in headaches.

10/22. get a trigger job done, take 2 turns off the return spring if shooting subsonics.

I don't think a semi-auto is the right gun for a 9 year old to start with. Just my opinion.

Yes thanks guys not interested in a semi, appreciate the feedback but what sort of issues have you had?

Considering I was looking at a new jw15 or rossi 8122 I thought this may be a step up for not much.

The jw is a knock off brno/cz and they can be as good as the real thing. Second hand is a good option

Yes I have heard the jw15 can be a good beginner rifle but it can be 50/50 weather you get a good one or not.
I would think this would be the same second hand no?
Atleast if it was new I could return it.

Just tossing up weather I spend a little more, as the old saying buy the best you can afford.
$500 should get us a reliable rifle, scope, suppressor.
