Had the trap set fir a while. Never got it or the kittens I've seen. Saw this limping down the front of our section and it gave me the slip again. Later I was driving out the driveway and it was 3m from the driveway in the long grass in the paddock. Drove back to the house got the gun and was still there when I got back and shocked it
Not such a little pesty caught out feeding in the compost bin!

@Snap4T not sure of velocity, but it was terminal 😉
Currently waging war on these little pests. I can see why the sting is so painful.

Shot a possum in a tree the Night before, and caught two in the same trap this week. That adds up to 3 possums in a few days from the same <1Ha forest
Evening everyone
I was going out for a spotlighting session last night but realised I didn't have my headlamp with me... So I improvised by tying a battery powered spotlight to my head. It worked far better than any headlamp I've used and shot this rabbit at 70 yds. This 'headlamp' lit animals up at 200+ yds. I will definitely use it again next time.
I've got a rabbit curry in the oven right now, Everything apart from the back steaks is being cooked slowly, I'll sear those and throw them in later.

If it works it works. Still I imagine the rest of rabbits watching were pissing themselves laughing.
Good on you for finding away around forgetting your head lamp.
Emptying the ladder traps keeps me busy at the moment taking 20+ jackdaws a day per trap

Early morning outings to the formal gardens of a stately home where i'm employed as the vermin controller have been productive for grey squirrels.
Fully moderated 20 bore over and under with subsonic loads for squirrels the trees and the .22rimfire with subsonic ammunition for the longer range squirrels on the ground. The house is in the middle of a village so noise and safe shooting is key.
