I control the squirrels on the estate with traps, poison is not allowed, so walk the trap lines daily with a shotgun shooting a few and reseting the Fenn Mk4 tunnel traps.

I used to take a few thousand rabbits a year but now its just handfuls due to the rabbit haemorrhagic disease
A few from yesterday evening

I am also required to keep the Canada goose population down in the area due to the sites of special scientific interest (SSSI) on the estate
So out early yesterday morning!

Coming to the end of the season for deer in the UK but took this fox while following the Fallow herds, I keep the foxes under control to assist the ground nesting birds in the area

I often take my lunch break at a squirrel bait station and shoot a few while I eat my sandwiches, great fun
This an image from early autumn, fattening up for the winter

@Goldfish Oh all that lovely fly tying material
@NO4 I have so many "best friends" who fly fish :D
@rossi.45 that is an awsome photo. Really well composed👍
good spotting @Billbob Yes it is stinging nettle . . not to much fun getting down behind the gun in a field of it but its got to be done, its the worst part of the farm for rabbits but the good news its all in the 200 to 300 range which is perfect for this rifle.
its magic country for Varminting or just old school rabbit shooting . . . before i left that spot i looked around the hills to see how far was the furthest rabbit i could see thru the 10 power binos and then the scope on max 32 power, hillsides were in the shade, you can see them a lot better if theyre in direct sunshine . . 600ish yards for the binos and 2 groups of rabbits at 960 & 980 yards for the Nightforce . . walked back to the truck thinking about what kind of rifle i would need to have a go at them . . as ya do
Bit of a average night last night. Missed a couple, swap rifle did a little better, plenty hopped off before I could draw a bead. Claggy evening, mist/fog up high, very light rain.
