Yeah, I seem to remember that coming into effect sometime within the last year eh? It seems pretty foolish to me but you guys still have the pleasure of using your AR's in the bush, ours are restricted and therefore limited to the range![]()
The change that you might be referring to, is that a pistol grip on an AR15 now makes the firearm a MSSA (a NZ term for Military Style Semi Automatic) which is classed as an E Category firearm.
Unlike Canadian Restricted Classed firearms, unless specifically mentioned on a licensees endorsement, there is no restrictions on where an owner may legally use an E category firearm.
