    2013 Wapiti Ballot

    sup guys,
    applying for the 2013 Wapiti ballot for the first time, can anyone reccomened a good block/area? or they all good? theres 25 blocks n the admission form with 3 dates for each, and you gota list your preference in numbered order and im a bit lost

    Look at the Rod and Rifle website for their resources. If its your first time just put them all down so you get a good chance of getting any block.

    Had a mate that got the BillyBurn last year for the 2nd period and out of 6 hunters only 2 seen animals (both red stags) and they were miles away when seen. He also recons that there were footmarks everywhere (more that can be made by the first period hunters)
    I ve walked along catseye bay a few years ago now (without a gun) during the roar and the hoofmarks on the beach were massive i took photos but the camera was destroyed when the dingi fliped in the surf on the way out.

    As Wildman says ... Rod and Rifle mag has been doing articles on the blocks one per issue for a while now they are worth a read!

    yea im working over in ozzie at the moment and have missed out on all the rod n rifle issues of late dammit!

    truuue thatd defiantly kill the camera haha. be ultra chuffed if i gota block

    sounds like ill have to do some thorough research and try for all the first periods looks like it gets pretty busy in there, be crazy just to get down for the scenery

    Another note on that one is that the red stags didnt start up untill the last day of the trip so dont be too keen to jump at the first period but depends on the season i guess. dunno if the wapati start earlier or what to be honist

    yea excellent point, i thought it had something to do with cold weather and shit? or alignment of the stars, who knows? o well , will start punching some numbers in and see what happens come draw time

    ohh dont worry i will, youll need to get a bigger computer screen for total viewing of the epic wapiti head , probably gun down that mysterious fiordland moose if i get a spare day too haha .... be wrapt to see one to be honest
