2018 Haast Roar Ballot, Who's In??

Its that time of the year again, roar ballots close today at 4pm.
Who's got a ballot in and where are you wanting to go?
It has always interested me as to where the bulk of the ballots put in are for.

With 56 "Blocks", which block gets the most selections?

Is it the more remote blocks? What makes a block "desirable"?

Interested to hear thoughts on this.

BTW I already have my Ballot in, only one ballot of 4 blocks. Which, personally, think should be limited to.

@scottrods It gets drawn on the 11th of October.
I put in for mckerrow, creswicke flat, snowden and McArthur creek blocks.
There must be a few in the ballot, my ballot number was in the high 2000s.

Depends on what you want out of the roar as to what are considered the best blocks.

If you want to see shit loads of deer then the coastal blocks are best along with most of the open block south of the Cascade.
If you are after trophies I know the best ones but not gunna post it on here.
However the blocks with the major rivers in the region all have the potential to produce a trophy.
I never go in the ballot as it is rigged. Don't care what anyone says. Same parties getting the same blocks year after year isint possible in a fair system. Same with the Thar ballot.
I will be hunting the region tho.

I put in for a couple of blocks.

Lotto is rigged too. I can never win anything and my wife has won $20 twice.

Haha not wanting to ask what are the best blocks. I'm more interested in what blocks get the most attention and why?
@R93 there certainly seems there is a sentiment about the ballot and its legitimacy.
That fact that you can apply as many times has you have money to do so leaves the system open to rort.

I put in for blocks with 14 pointers in all the clearings within half an hour stroll from the hut.

We'll go in again. Always apply for a ballot block, because if we draw one then that semi commits everyone to a date and place to go. We find it helps with planning alot. Have drawn blocks every year, but rarely get a shot at the same ones.

May want to check your email a little more closely. Your email you get after application is to confirm the blocks you selected.

Ballot doesn't get drawn until the 11th of October.
