    208 amax projectile recovered from red deer

    Shot red deer at 620 yards. Velocity on impact was 2000fps.

    Was hoping no one was going to ask that. Was front on shot, deer stepped forward down slip and bullet went over head and straight down spine found it next to ass. No back steaks off this one.

    Did it touch a bit of " green" or passed over?

    Took half the day to recover. Waist deep river and had just snowed was pretty sweet.

    Wow, I didn't think they held together that well. I wonder if the 162's hold together like that, I might try and recover some...

    They're great projectiles, I've never experienced the 'blow up' that people speak of.

    closest shot with these is 80 yards still kill sweet. Im gunna try the 162s now soon with rem mag.

    I had a blow up on a fellow at 120y
    Spine shot at top of shoulder
    Took heaps of meat off but no peneration.
    From my 7-375
