Right enough talking.off to reloading room. Fifty adi milserp cases have been full length resized, primer pockets decrimped, flasholes uniformed.overall length checked,no trimming needed, federal primers slipped up the ginger hole.25 grns of AR2206h carefully weighed out on balance beam scales.now I better go and seat some 55grn projectiles on top.winchester PSP same as our man in CHCH has for sale for half of them and some pulled norinco fmj for the other half.Im 100% confident either will cleanly kill under 200yards if I point them in right direction.
Nightforce NX8 with Mil-CF2 reticle FFP makes windage holds surprisingly easy.
Agree! especially if theres nothing to reference on the flight path of the bullet.
The end of a very long day, trudging noisily up hill to camp. The dog stops and fully locks up. After standing still for what felt like an eternity (probably 3 minutes) I spotted a hind ghosting through the tight like a tiger might, oblivious to us. Had to wait for her to drift past the thick to the open at 10 paces. Sako gamehead 55g took out both shoulders. 223 - my favourite calibre (typed in hushed tone so my 7mm08 doesn't hear in the gun cabinet).

An unexpected encounter but the little 223 did the trick again.
Nice scope.
Yep. Learn what the reticle ( preferably with elevation/windage marks ) subtension is at various power settings ( you probably going to use max power anyway ), verify for the load you’re using, and good to go. For all the lazy pricks out there Chairgun, Strelok et all give good guidelines to start with, still need to calibrate and verify though. Have used both ffp and sfp over the years, each have their good and bad points. My 2c.
Yep. Use Sako Gamehead in my Sako 7mm08. It likes this ammo also.
Poked 25 grns of 2208 behind some 70 grn Speers in milserp cases...be interesting to see how they go.

Well finally pulled finger and rezeroed rifles today. My .223 is slumming it with her Leupold away to doctors she has kahles fixed six on top. Six rounds had me where need to be,tried five of the 70 grn load and they will be near enough for sub hundy usage any day of week,as in print in same small group.was crappy wind today so didn't try out long, zeroed to be about inch high at fifty and called it good.out for walk tomorrow so see how we get on.
Any luck micky??
Yeah we shot half dozen wallabies.fiochi 50grn VMAX factory loads I got given ages ago were used....had almost forgotten how darn effective soft n fast loads are on hoppers.they are hit and simply expire on the spot.massive damage as pills just explode
Yes speed kills faster, unless of course it's a head shot.
I use the Hornady Zombie max on the wallabies with very impressive results (especially through the 22 250).
The Z max were a bit of a promotional projectile at the time produced for Zombiegeddon.
Basically the same as Hornady v max if i am correct but with the green polycarbonate tip.
Bullet construction is actioned by velocity. It's hard not to believe in velocity when you shoot a deer with a .223 or a .243 and then pour the chest contents out in a red soup.
Sure but it does that at 2500 fps mv. And at 400 metres.
That is excellent news.

It’s honestly not as small as it looks :D
Winchester 64g xp in the neck, very impressive damage.
6 Fallow shot over the weekend with 73eldm all head or neck shot.
Loving this little .223 thanks @7mmsaum https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...477a797b61.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dfb07f3946.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...483e898501.jpg

Those hammers seem to work really well for a non-lead bullet. I am likely to get some of the heavier, tipped versions to try.
