Got a couple with the Kimber.257 the other night.

First one was 271 yards. The 115NBT passed through and broke both shoulders. Still made it 50 yards.
It was close to dark so vid quality not very good.

The second one was 315 yards (using IR). Shot a bit high and you can see the shots' bulge through the hinds back. It was off my knees so I 'suppose I can be excused. Never exited but wrecked off side shoulder. Dropped on spot.

Does that unit compensate for range?

Yes. It has ballistics in it that work with the range finder. There is an aiming dot that moves according to the range. Very simple to set up and very effective.

Have necked up to 270 from 6mm then to 257, no problem with WW and Norma brass, good primer strike, just the R/P brass not achieving good primer strike, 40% failure, will get there in the end. Getting excellent accuracy while fire-forming using the old 95 Bergers moli-coated. 15 shots in 25mm, too scared to show it in the 3 shot group thread.

Ok. I couldn't see the aiming dot in the video. I am partially colour blind though....

@Shearer Your vision is fine. The ballistic dot and screen data doesn't come out on the vids

I used one for many years and Loved it!!!. I eventually re chambered it it .257 Roberts Ackley improved... And loved it even more. nothing ever walked away after being shot with it.. in all the years I had it. On a side note, it was eventually stolen and as I was used to the 25 cal and had lots of projectiles. I brought a 25-06. And also as the Improved was knocking on 25-06 speeds anyway. However I don't think it was ever as effective as the Roberts.

I mainly used the Hornady 120gn Hollow points

Bit of fun over the weekend. That last shot - bullet came out in front of off side shoulder. Pretty good performance. 100grn Barnes ($2.20 worth!).

If anyone is keen to give the Roberts a go, there is a BSA majestic sitting at Deadeye Dicks in levin. Has a new stainless barrel on it, even has the iron sights put back on. They’re asking something like $1300 for it, but given that it’s been there for at least 5 (probably closer to 10) years I reckon you could get it for a reasonable price.
