Thread: .308 round choises 150 grain vs 180 grain on red stags

    have used .308 now for the best part of 50 years - stay with 150 grain only because as long shot says 180grain will boot a bit more - dont over complicate what bullets will do comparing commercial brands - they will all do the job they were designed for - just smack your stag hard in the engine room he will die - the only time I choose carefully commercial rounds is with my .222 - some american made rounds dont work well on deer since likely they were designed for woodchucks YUK YUK the euro made i.e norma sako work better generally -so if you can compare brands for accuracy in your rifle - choose and away ya go - american made .308 150 grain will have been designed for deer -euro certainly will have also - so good to go
