.243, 6.5 x anything, 7/08. They are all running out of steam at 350 yards, and although they still kill, death becomes more and more delayed as the range increases. That's my experience anyway.
The exceptions to the above are for the experienced and capable shots, using suitable bullets in very accurate rifles.
Even then, quick follow up shots are often required. But in any event, one 160 grn - 180grn bullet from something larger is still more effective than two 140grn from a 7-08.
