HI Guys

This is my first day and first post!!!!

Wanting to take my son hunting these holidays - Has anyone been hunting in the OHAKUNE area lately with any luck and or does anyone know if there is quad bike access through the Karoio Forest to the DOC areas or where the best areas might be to go in that area???

Thanks Brads - yeah I'm aware of the other name but the other guy is referring to 'Fare' game (payment for opportunity to shoot) I presume where as I am referring to 'Fair" game - opportunity to shoot game unhindered by fences or such.

just walk anywhere off the road to the skifield. they in there. dont need a quad.

go down to the karori lakes road and turn left up into a track which winds up a fair way.some great native in there but will be a few hunters up there at the moment.
access to the winstone forestry is now restricted to locals with permits issued and kill returns needed before another permit issued which i reckon is a great idea
Also try erua if it hasnt been nuked latley
