Looking at a meat hunt up Doubtful tops this weekend. Wondering what access is like up Tui Stream or the longer creek just off the Doubtful river? Also, will it be best at this time of year to play right on the bush edge or should they be right up on the tops? Any tips appreciated.

Generally any bush ridge gives you easy access to the tops. The first long stream that you mention up the true right is easy going than push up a bush ridge once near the head. Deer will be anywhere from the creek slips/ lower down in that head basin to the tops. High numbers they will be anywhere haha
