Thread: access to wakarara road central hawkes bay

hey all just wondering what the access to wakarara road is like now as there is very little information on the road and what condition it is in as i am wanting to go in to the yeomans track area. other option is to park on the other side of the makaroro river then corss it and up a track on the other side.

Your only option to get to Yeomans track is to follow Wakarara Road to the end then cross the river. Don't try to get there through the forestry

Road is fine in. Head in via makaroro off high 50 way then in. You’ll need a 4wd drive to park at river car park however good as to park at the first doc sign and then walk down to river which is only another 10mins. Pm if you want more details.

Yeah, as said, it's fine, Makaroro Road is the only way in now. I was informed today that they don't intend to ever fix the wakarara brigde.
Be aware that if you're coming from the south, the highway 50 brigde is out.
