Great link , some nice rams on there , I did a Dall sheep hunt in Alaska about 8 years ago , amazing experience it’s just a shame it so bloody expensive
I was recently in Alaska for work and on the western end of the Brooks Range, at Cape Lisburne. Saw plenty of animals from Dall Sheep to Polar Bear. Such an amazing landscape that is very similar to the Southen Alps in many ways.
I will hunt there at some point in my life!

Na, the one he got is drawn like a lottery.
He has been putting in for 30 years and the longer you have been applying the more chances you get.
I didnt realise how amazing it was that he got it till I started reading about it.
They sell a couple of tags to the highest bidders to put into the restoration of the sheep herd apparently.
Wish I was there!

Us kiwis are lucky, we can hunt ship on the Chetnams for a fraction of the costs :-)
Some pretty impressive rams being taken.
It wont be a governors tag if he got it in a tag draw, they're definitely an auction only tag that go for mega bucks depending on the state and the opportunity offered. He may have got "Unit 680" which is apparently one of the best sheep units in the country and only one ram per season is taken from the unit (by the person who gets the unit 680 tag)
I was reading about it earlier and it said most people will put in for 30 years or more and still not draw it.
Bloody cool animals anyhow I'd love to hunt a bighorn and a mule deer buck. One day, maybe.

Ok I just reread about it, I know he didnt buy it and he drew it so you must be right as the govenors tag looks like it is auctioned only.
It's just they have been banging on about the govenors tag but might be just comparing what it's worth!
It is the fabled 680 unit though so very cool I reckon.
I'm looking forward to some photos and will ask if I can share on here.
