    Antler combs.

My wife has a problem breaking supermarket combs, so I've offered to make her some from antlers. Shouldn't be too hard. I'm thinking the hard part will be getting some antlers.
I think fallow palms from cast antlers might make good material for a deep comb. Does anyone have experience carving antlers? Will cast antlers be strong enough (assuming I come across any), or do they rot away quite quickly in the bush?

They will be fine, have a look at some of the 2000 year old examples to get design ideas.

No, I'm serious. Handcrafted beats cheap crap.

Had mate now deceased who was into bone carving in a big way used horse shin bone as first choice.
Would suspect cattle shin bones would also work.I think bone would be better than Antler. Sounds like a fun project.

historically antler or horn were used before rubber and plastic, pretty sure I watched a couple of youtube videos about combs and the like.

Cow horn guide above, seems pretty straight forward. Goat horn might work too
