Ive shot a few up there years ago. Remember one new years eve me and my mate went up in the afternoon and saw a big mob of goats high up. Wee stalk to get within range then my 243 and his 6.5 let rip. Hail of gunfire, smoking hot barrels and after the racket died down we got everyone . About 12 goats all up . Swear i saw a chammy up there once as well when pighunting. Riwaka south branch has plenty of goats and will be the best place around mot to get one

Left fork of the Riwaka used to be filthy with them. Haven't been there in years but used to be good for it. Used to see quite a few off the look out on the Takaka hill out the south.

Mt Campbell was crawling with em 3 years ago when I did my flight training there, not sure who owns what up there though. There is a fair amount of public land, i'm told.
