Thread: Any pig dog pups in the waikato for young hunter

Hi everyone im looking at getting my first pig dog pup this is my first post on this forum but have been reading it fir years I have just turned 16 and will be getting my firearms license asap have been hunting since I was little with my grandfather and have only in the last few years got into the big game side of things. Biggest decision you'll have to make with a pig dog is do you want holders or bailers. Then it's just all about training and getting out in the hills. Good luck with your search hope you find one that fits into what you want to achieve

Good luck getting your license, current police estimates are 12 months but sounds like it varies by region/district with some being much quicker.
If it does take a year, at least your pup will be ready to go when you are!
You could try contacting the Te Kuiti Pighunting club, they have a lot of members (well, they did when I was a member) so probably quite a few litters born each year. If you can't find a contact number/email on Google I can point you towards a contact.

You may be better to join the Pig Hunting forum, ask if anyone local to you will let a young guy tag along. Best way to obtain knowledge and maybe a dog that knows what's happening.
