    Any recent info on Wanaka roar block populations

    Hey has anyone been into the Wanaka roar ballot this Year to convey any potential indications of any existance of the ol red deer in the area as of 2023?

    I've got a spot in me ol hearty for the joint north of, sorta wanna go there but its kinda been a bit of a dormant joint of sorts in previous years...

    not after much exacts, but recent intel on numbers or not, most welcome to shoot via PM

    From what I've seen in our part of the would, granted more Central Otago than up steam, but the numbers have been very good everywhere I have looked. I have seen a lot more fellow that I have before but that maybe just chance. but for anyone comming to the area looking to hunt,

    Nah, haven't seen any animals for years, would bother really.

    i emailed wanaka office, they say they dont monitor the populations but is a small to low pop up river.....
    low or no venno trade lately am i correct?

    Possibly up there in the public blocks, I have personally seen no shortage of animals around, more that ever before to my mind.

    Those areas probably get hit pretty hard as access is not too hard.

    Heya mate,

    We had Cotters Creek up the hunter valley in the first period - we only hunted in cotters creek and the headbasins/tops around it. Saw four deer total - lots of old trails and old sign. Ok chammy numbers.
