    Any roaring yet?

Hi there, well the 2025 roar is upon us again yahoo!!! how’s the roaring going on in your neck of the woods? Word across the South Island is it still seems to be quite quiet ( roaring wise) in the hills? How are they going in your neck of the woods?

Stags been making a bit of noise around here for the last week or so. Was in Westport last weekend, couple of locals reckoned they’d started over that way.

Went for a wander in the ruahines yesterday in apiti area was all quiet but I sent a few roars out and got 2 stags going pretty well in 2 different catchments, got to within 20 yards of both but made a couple of mistakes and the wind caught me out.managed to bush stalk one on my way out but this one wasn't roaring.Name: IMG_6658.JPG

I went for a fly around the Canterbury hills yesterday, didn’t see any stags holding hinds but the stags have split up from there buddy’s, did come across a chopper doing waro and watched him bang over a couple deer on the tussock tops.
