Stags been making a bit of noise around here for the last week or so. Was in Westport last weekend, couple of locals reckoned they’d started over that way.

Yep, Reds roaring in Gwavas/front of Ruahine's. Called a few stags up at work today but were Roaring earlier in the week too.
Few roaring are the back of Fairlie and Kakahu.
Heard the first Lazy moan yesterday about 3pm here.

Heard some moaning near Onekaka, Golden Bay an hour ago.
Don't know the area so not sure if there's deer on a farm up the back
Went for a wander in the ruahines yesterday in apiti area was all quiet but I sent a few roars out and got 2 stags going pretty well in 2 different catchments, got to within 20 yards of both but made a couple of mistakes and the wind caught me out.managed to bush stalk one on my way out but this one wasn't roaring.![]()

I went for a fly around the Canterbury hills yesterday, didn’t see any stags holding hinds but the stags have split up from there buddy’s, did come across a chopper doing waro and watched him bang over a couple deer on the tussock tops.

Couple roaring In Canterbury today all still half arsed though ,lots of hinds still unoccupied and younger stags still grouped up . Old boys definitely on there own roaming around
