When we bought our first house many things had to go towards a deposit, among them all my rifles apart from a .22
Once we were in I looked about for a rifle that was cheap and best bang for buck as it were
I bought a 30 30 Marlin
Don't let anybody tell you a scoped marlin 30 30 is light, it's handy but no lighter than a normal 7Lb+ rifle.
I shot hares, rabbits, wallaby, pigs [ but never a deer] with that rifle untill we were better fixed
It was an honest 1.5 to 1.8 moa rifle and at 2 and 3/4 inches high at 100 was good for about 6" low at 200 with factory Winchester 150gr power points.
One of those things that got sold on, wished I never had, and have never goteen round to buying another.
Marlin 30 30, cheap birch or similar stock, old Weaver 3x9
I was alot younger in this photo but absolutely nowhere near as good looking as I am now.
