I do also keep a record of animals seen and where and when during the day.
Especially helpful when you hunt a lot and can't quite remember when you were there last.
Things like when the fawns are out with the hinds or hinds only seen.
Chamois tracking in snow when looking for deer as somewhere to check in the autumn or winter.
When you are at high altitude and there's just nothing there as u y are too early etc

The GPS data and date embedded in pics its good for that. I take lots of pics and save them all.
