    Bad luck hunting spots

Wondering if anyone else on here has a hunting area that just seems to be unlucky for them.

My one is Mt Peel/peel forest. I grew up in Geraldine(now living in lower hutt) and when I go down to visit my parents I often go for a wee bush stalk under little Mt peel. Every time I have been in there I have spotted or spooked multiple deer but have yet to actually pull the trigger on anything after half a dozen trips in there. Starting to think I should just give up on going in there.

I have successfully bush stalked in multiple other areas. Maybe it's because the track I take in has my name it's just not meant to be.

Would love to hear who else has a place like this?

oh come on Alan........ you just know one day you will crack it and it will be all the more special because of it...if it makes you feel any better Ive only carried deer out of there once in multiple trips, and that one was one hell of a mission to get out over two days as had gorge between shooter and the shot!!!! did something crazy like 1400 verticle meters of plodding.

I've got a cursed spot in the Lewis pass. Every time I go there I see at least three deer, but every time something happens and I don't get to pull the trigger.

Last time I was trying to get a nice angle on a stag and pissed off a wasp nest.

Glad it's not just me Micky Duck. I'm certain I'll keep going back in. At least it's only a 20min drive and a good challenge and walk.

Despite being reasonably successful throughout the rest of the Blueys, I've never had any luck (and quite a bit of bad luck) in Black Gully.

Your not alone. I've got a spot on the West Coast that I've seen deer in every time, and yet nothing has come home with me yet. Dunno what it is. No trouble in the other usual spots. Just can't quite crack this one. Will go for another round next spring and see if I come out on top

Everytime I go out with the brother in law , who has been hunting for years , we never see anything !
Go out with a mate to a local spot and hello , two fellow deer come out right on dark . Didnt get a shot away but was stoked too see an animal.
I am yet to drop my first deer. Hopefully tonight I will succeed.
