    baikal MP18 H

Has anyone used this single shot rifle. I am planning to get one in 223. Also i have heard that the barrels are interchangeable. Is this true. The rifle comes in 3 pieces.

I'm looking at grabbing one in 7.62x39
I've not heard anything bad about these rifles, other than they're somewhat..... simple and tractor like.
And the trigger pull is Ruger-ish

They are a well-made and accurate rifle. A trigger job is a simple task for any competent gunsmith. The barrels are not interchangeable and are hand fitted to each action.

My understanding is that the single shot rifle model number is IZH-18

    I think the shotgun is MP18 ?

I have one in 7.62x39, they make awesome bush / pack guns, and yes - breaks down into 3 pieces.

They are not pretty, but solid Russian engineering , built like brick shithouse

I have one in 7,62x39 superb as a scrub gun, ditched the rear sight and fitted an aperture and what do you know it's pretty good at long range too! For the money I don't see how they can be beaten.

i got one of these last year in 7.62 x 39 calibre
fired my first shot at the range and the rifle jammed. as in the action wouldn't open after taking the shot. a few jerks later it opened. took my second shot and the same thing. jammed again. this time it didn't open at all. took it back to GC and they managed to open it only to realize that the firing pin got bent. it appeared that the firing pin did not retract after hitting the primer. was using barnaul 125G HP's. GC exchanged the rifle for a savage + some cash.
but i have only heard nice things about this model. it's light and only 100cm long. single shot doesn't bother me. will go for one in 223 @ebf. yes you are right this one's a IZH 18MH .223
