Hi All I am looking at going to a place where I can guarantee to get my first deer at a cost. Any ideas and what are the costs ? Cheers John

The thousands of hectares of public DOC land, I can gaurantee there are deer there. The costs will be your time and your determination. Unless there is a special reason like disability and you need quad access don't buy a deer for your first one, it will take away from the moment
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Dont do it man, it wont even help your hunting ability, Just keep hitting the doc land and work hard for it.
Even farm access will take away from it being your all important 1st
Rushes right shooting your first deer is like your first root , it all happens within seconds , but you remember the first one like it was yesterday . make it one to remember johno . And don't watch those wankers on tv saturday night that try and make payed hunting normal , thats not the kiwi way , that's for fat stupid yanks and tv presenters who couldn't shoot shit without there hands held
Ill add my ten cents, just ask someone on here to take you to nail your first dear!there are plenty of guys on here willing to help you out that way and you can use your 1k to put towards something else!.
At 150 a pop thats ??????..... a months worth or if your married with kids close to a year ! im sure people will have their own quoters on it for sure.
Johno I'll step forward since my first comment was a little direct. If you are serious about your first deer, I'll take you out. I can't help with the root though
