Any good places where you don't need a permit and is not near any public tracks?

Probably not the zoo then, but you could go there to familiarize yourself
Probably a good idea to do a bit of interacting with people on here and shit before you go asking for spots to go plug a animal fella...
Pretty sure you need a permit for any doc/public land
For bunnys your going to have to go door knocking on some farms. Be prepared to be told no a few times. Offering to work up a safety plan first In daylight helps a lot-but if you can't be bothered getting a permit for doc land for deer then this may be to much effort for you.
You will be lucky indeed to get privet land access for deer and as you don't want to get a permit for public land I think your shit out off luck.
Maybe you need to rethink your objection to permits-they are free and easy to get after all

Have you considered that the only way to find those "good places" might be to go look?
I certainly guard my private spots and I am sure my mates do the same and why not they worked hard to get permission to go there in the first place.
I am quite happy to tag along if invited but would not dream trying to get permission from the landowner to hunt their spots behind their back. That's just not the done thing!!

Getting a permit isn't difficult and even the Regional Council allow hunting on a lot of their land, with a permit. Permits do not cost anything.
Otherwise you are stuck to door knocking on farms.
er, public land permits are free and piece of piss to organise, go to the DOC or GWRC website.
or are you asking about paid hunting on a private farm ?
otherwise, there is this rather large open area just north of Welly called "The Tararuas". walk along a public track, turn at right angles and head off for 30 minutes - problem solved
