Gabrielle Molloy
[48] The partner of James Dodds at the conclusion of the Inquest made an impassioned plea to the Court that these accidents be stopped from happening again. The plea was that hunters must be stopped from splitting up and if they are going to split up then they should cease hunting in terms of the evidence of Inspector Green and if they cannot see their hunting companion clearly they should not take a shot and that should become part of the Arms Code.
[49] When questioned by the Court she was adamant that she wanted this as a recommendation. She said “I don’t mind people splitting up but don’t take the shot if you can’t see your partner or maybe just add that to the Arms Code and that is a worthy thing to be aware of”.
