    Big itch for Southern hunt

righto boys and girls. A new member to the forum. Dunedin hunter chomping at the bit to get out.
Have shot one yearling so far but wonder if the hunting gods were just being friendly.......
had a great hunt up Waiau last weekend but the weather was a little too good. Spent most of the time sweating it up.
Have a pass to head out (thanks my good lady) but not sure where.
    Any takers to come along....

Welcome to the forum Keenas. Have fun.

Perfect day for hunting. Not a breath of wind, wet underfoot so made no noise. Good sign (as is usually the case) but nothing. Oh and in the 5 minutes I was heading down a steep decline, gun slung over shoulder and had switched off from 'the stalk' bloody well spooked my first stag. Donlt know who got spooked more!! Typical. right when you were not ready for it. This is what greeted me though in the morning. Not bad way to start the day.

There is a spot of two about if you don't mind a solid walk to get there.
