Thread: blackbirds

Often when hunting in the bush, I spook those blackbirds ( i think thats what they are) when I just about stand on them.
Every now and then I have heard them being spooked by something other then me.
So last night I find myself on a nice spot on a face between two bits of bush. There was a bit of sign around.
15 mins later about 200m downhill a blackbird came ripping out of the scrub! I was thinking maybe something may have spooked it. Ten seconds later a nice fat red spiker walked out and stood looking downhill, side on.
Farmers rules were hinds only, so I watched it walk off. Would have been a easy shot. But it was nice to see it anyway.
Interesting, as it makes me think if I hear a bird get startled then it may pay to go in and have a look.
