If you had a 600N that needed a real hangar and not a shoe box. I would walk up queen st, in Dorkland wearing a sandwhich board and nothing else saying, "Only Homos use blasers" (fingers crossed of course) for a wee steer of it.

Like chalk and cheese as far as technology goes. If a traditional rotating bolt and a safety catch is your thing you'd probably be very happy staying with a Sako, they're a quality bit of kit. If you want try something different, the straight pull and cocker/de-cocker of the Blaser system can't be beat in my biased opinion... The R8 offers some interesting new features, compared to the R93, in that the entire trigger and mag group drops away from the stock. I actually ordered a wood blued Sako 85 but the importer thought my order was a duplicate and didn't place it so I got the hump and ordered a R93. Bloody glad I did.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

As I have said, I have never seen an R8 up close. I do not understand why you would want the trigger and mag to be detatchable? I also hear that nothing but the saddle mount can be used on a R93?
I will stick with the R93, got too many things aftermarket done to it.

I hate testfires done by Jo blow from magazines. Everything is awesome, usually. As far as blasers go. I like mine better than I did 10 yrs ago. I do not think, an honest and accurate review, can be done by someone without experience hunting or shooting with one. They take a bit of getting used to.

If you can use your imagination, why would you waste it on a sako?

I said "interesting", not necessarily desirable...
