I've got me an ice breaker cadet blue merino beanie I wear, i still get deer wearing it and stands out like nuts on a duck in the bush. My blaze gear no longer gets used, it's kinda lost it's brightness anyway so prob just makes me look like a sika in summer coat to those trigger happy bush blasting mofos
The thing is that not all of us wear any sort of identifying colours , so even if you dont see blaze or blue or what ever , it still could be another hunter so it is still a matter of IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET .
I carry a 1m square of blaze cloth in my day bag , this gets hung on a nearby bush when I am sitting glassing or having a rest , same when I am gutting a deer , then it is wrapped around the deer for the carry out . People who hunt with GSP's Vislas etc should invest in fluro vests for their dogs as well
I get the identify your target but wearing something to help people identify you as a human isn't a bad thing.
Interesting point about dogs there Druid. I have often thought that a Visla is almost perfect colour match for some Deer. Anyone know of dogs being shot when mistaken for game??
I've got a vest thing for a pointer (some american importer?) that is both tough and bright orange. Also have a smaller sort of hi-vis-vest style bib that I think I got from Mitre10 years ago! The dog sports a blaze collar too. I have never heard of a dog being mistaken for game but I'm not taking any chances.
How many upside down spikers have your seen?? :p
