Blue Mountains, anyone keen to share a block?

Anyone keen to share a blue mountains block for a overnighter or maybe a two nighter? Thinking of putting in for one since they're handy to home. End of the day we could just go bowl over a deer at home on the farm if no luck and you want the venison. Keen to get in there in the next few weeks before bucks start dropping their headgear.

Hey mate , I'm pulling tits in the area also , I spend quite a bit of time up there normally chasing pork around but do a bit of deer stalking as well , I've quite often got block permits during the week .
Drop me a pm if you like
    Cheers

No, permits very clear, no camping in blue Mountains. Mostly not an issue on most blocks, but Smithys Spur difficult to get in and out and have a decent days hunting without camping.

Yea its bollocks aye some mean spots to pitch a tent , iv never used them but the huts at Beaumont could be an option for you , I think the south Otago deerstalkers administer them but could be wrong , the pub will probably no.

I would just drive home to my own bed each night if that was the case. Strange I couldnt find anything on the doc website about no camping

Kind of puts a bit of a downer on the whole thing if you can't stay in there. The reason I want to go is I'm going stir crazy on the farm. If I just wanted to shoot a deer I'd go out and shoot one right now he home in 30 minutes

The 'no camping' rule has been in place for some years.

Side note, I see you have changed your gang colours/affiliations. Interesting.
    Ya can't park there mate.

Can anyone point me to some kind of literature on this issue? I cannot find anywhere where it says you cannot stay overnight in the blue mountains. If it is only written on a hunting permit and nowhere else (ie: only "hunters" know that you're "not allowed to camp in the blue mountains) then they can stick that rule up their bums, I'm going hiking, with my rifle.

If you go in from the Tapanui side via Black Gully Rd there's a legit wee camping ground there, quite nice. I think the reason for "no camping" is the supposed fire and H&S risk for the forestry crews. A few people I know do "overnight" in the blocks but usually don't leave their vehicle in there and keep a low profile . . . . as long as you don't do anything "untoward" I'd just go and do it. Its a fantastic place and plenty of game if you do "old fella" hunting - watch and wait - a lot!

And I'm always keen for a (short if its with a pack) walk, being a broken down old fencer and self employed I can usually get away alright . . . .
